The Reading office is a key regional hub, serving a dynamic client base across sectors including technology, professional services, property, and owner-managed businesses. Due to sustained growth, the firm is seeking an ambitious Accounts Senior to join their established Accounts & Business Advisory team.
The Role
As an Accounts Senior, you will take a leading role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, compliance, and advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients. You will work closely with Managers and Partners, supporting both technical delivery and client relationship management, while helping to develop junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and review of statutory financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders in line with UK GAAP and FRS 102.

Preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts for clients.

Supporting audit teams with year-end accounts and reconciliations where required.

Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations in liaison with the tax team.

Acting as a key contact for clients, providing advice and resolving queries promptly.

Assisting with process improvements, automation, and use of cloud accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).

Supervising and mentoring junior team members, reviewing work, and contributing to their professional development.
About You
You’ll be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple client relationships effectively.
Essential Requirements:

ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist) with a background in a reputable accountancy practice.

Proven experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management information.

Sound working knowledge of FRS 102 and UK GAAP.

Excellent communication skills – confident in client-facing situations.

Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).

Organised, deadline-driven, and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Desirable:

Experience working with SME and OMB clients.

Exposure to auditing or tax compliance.

Interest in business advisory and process improvement.
