At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
Power Products is a highly successful division, delivering strong profitability to Honda Motor Europe (HME). We are seeking a goal-orientated candidate to succeed in an important role for the further development of the Division’s business.
The prime responsibility for this role is to achieve Power Products agreed commercial objectives, through effective account management of the Franchised Dealer Network; to include Unit sales, Parts sales and a variety of Dealer Support and promotions as required with a focus on Miimo. The role will involve working closely with dealers in the assigned territory to develop strong manufacturer/dealer partnership offering the necessary support and guidance to dealers in the delivery of our mutual objectives.
As this role is field based you will require a full driving license and the ability to travel within the region of the role with flexibility for frequent overnight stays as required.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide the primary personal link between the dealer network and Honda Motor Europe UK (HME-UK) and create a proactive working environment and partnership with the dealers at all levels.
- Contribute to the sales and marketing strategy and communicate best practice on marketing and promotional activities with regard to Miimo.
- Ensure retailers have adequate product and sales training/coaching to support their sales objectives.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of Miimo from a sales (feature and benefits) and technical point of view so training and coaching refreshers, helpful tips and shortcuts can be delivered with credibility (training will be given).
- Forecast accurately monthly sales, and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets in line with area and product sales forecasts and budgets, with the introduction of countermeasures where required.
- Manage and motivate franchised dealer staff at all levels to consistently provide our customers with excellent customer service and to achieve overall divisional objectives utilising available tactical resource and products.
- Ensure medium and long term plans exist for the continuing development of the dealers, area and overall network coverage to promote and grow sales within the product groups, to ensure the area can achieve HME-UK’s future aspirations, in conjunction with HME Strategy.
- Liaise, plan and assist with local promotions, shows and PR and utilise the national show programmes to best advantage for the product groups in the area and nationally.
- Increase sales of Miimo in Area 1 in line with the HME growth strategy through the Five P’s: 1. People 2. Price 3. Promotion 4.Placement 5. Product.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of selling and achieving commercial targets.
- Experience of collaborating with a team to achieve set objectives.
- Analytical skills to collate and present relevant data.
- Understanding of the dealer business or distributor sector.
- Proficient in excel, intermediate in Word and Power Point.
- Full driving license and the commitment to travel extensively so that sales results and extensive dealer contact are maintained.
- Be prepared to undertake frequent overnight stays away.
Desirable
- Knowledge of the sector including competitor activity.
- Similar role in manufacturer/retail environment preferred.
