We are partnered exclusively with a high growth Transport business in Swindon. A strong customer base they are now looking to bring in an Assistant Financial Controller/ Finance business partner to Manage their Swindon Cluster.
Main purposes – Reporting into the Regional Financial Controller, the Assistant Financial Controller will cover two sites in Swindon both sites turnover circa 15 million, alongside ongoing expansion and investment to keep up with market demand.
The day to day role will include business partnering with operations to track and manage profitability across clients and at a total site level against budgets and forecasts produced throughout the year.
The Assistant Financial Controller will drive insight and influence into the operational decisions, how clients should be reported/invoiced, managed and integrated in and out of the warehouse. Also adding value to not only the operations but to all departments. This will include partnering with HR and other relevant departments to ensure a collaborative management team to run the sites
Key tasks –
- Manage and produce weekly management reporting analysing profitability by site and by client
- Produce budgets and forecasting throughout the year working alongside operations and commercial teams
- Manage open book clients with weekly client calls reporting their costs by week and productivity trends and reconciling at month/period end to ensure all costs are recovered
- Working with the Onboarding teams to ensure the seamless integration of new clients
- To promote and create a continuous improvement culture through identifying areas for improvement and positively acting on them
- Working with operational teams to enhance the Financial and Operational performance and understanding
- Manage and process period end for two sites reconciling all operational costs to the weekly KPIs posting relevant journals to the P&L and accruals
- Reconciling revenue each period to ensure the correct and relevant contracts are actively being used in the business
- Assisting in balance sheet reconciliations for any transactions posted working with the Financial accounting manager
- To manage and track capital expenditure on a ongoing basis for specific projects and clients
- Approve operational invoices when necessary ensuring they are posted to the correct cost centre and GL
