Job Overview:
I am looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller who is fluent in either Polish or Czech to join our client's dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the credit control process for our clients in Poland or the Czech Republic, ensuring timely payments, resolving queries, and maintaining positive relationships with customers.
You will work closely with the finance, sales, and customer service teams to support the company’s cash flow and minimize bad debt.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Management: Manage and maintain credit control processes for clients, ensuring adherence to company credit policies.
- Debt Collection: Proactively contact clients via phone, email, or written communication to chase overdue invoices and ensure timely payment of outstanding balances.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts, resolving any discrepancies related to payments or invoicing, and investigate customer queries.
- Aging Report Monitoring: Regularly review aging reports and manage the recovery of overdue accounts.
- Risk Assessment: Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers, setting appropriate credit limits in line with company policy.
- Negotiation: Negotiate payment plans or settlement agreements with customers when necessary.
- Cash Application: Ensure all incoming payments are applied accurately and promptly in the accounting system.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly reports on outstanding debts, cash collections, and customer payment trends for senior management.
- Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with relevant local laws and regulations, particularly regarding credit terms and debt recovery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales, customer service, and the finance team to resolve issues and maintain a smooth credit control process.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the credit control function.
Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Fluency in Polish or Czech (both spoken and written) is required. Proficiency in English is also essential.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of credit control procedures and experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to manage debt recovery effectively.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing customer accounts and processing payments.
- Organisation: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
