As the Head of Risk, you will lead the enhancement of the existing Risk Management Framework by leading and motivating the Risk Management team. You will engage with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation including C-Suite level, offering support and guidance where needed. This role will be key in raising awareness of Risk in the business and getting the stakeholders buy in in adopting new policies, procedures and approaches to mitigate any risk where possible.
The role:
This role will see you working alongside an inspirational Legal and Assurance Director who heads up the Governance, Legal, Risk Management, Insurance and Internal Audit functions so you will also have close liaison across these functional areas.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working with the relevant Directors and Heads of Service to review and challenge the internal control framework
- Take the lead in the compilation and co-ordination of the Group Risk Register
- Advise Senior Board members of the current Risks and advise on how to mitigate these within the business
- Consider the optimum approaches to creating a robust and agile Risk Management Framework which protects and helps deliver company strategy
- Assess and manage insurance requirements across the business
- Provide both the Audit and Risk Committee and the Board with concise reports to enable effective decision making in relation to risk management
In addition to Risk Management responsibilities, you will take a lead on Counter-Fraud, Internal Audit, Anti-Bribery & Corruption.
